TITLED:     ADDICTED

 

I feel so vulnerable

I feel so dejected

I so ashamed

I don't know how to stop.

I have prayed and prayed

I have fasted and fasted

I have went for counseling countless times

I have tried abstaining, but yet all to no avail .

I stood alone in the whale of time

With nobody to call my friend

With nobody to share my pain

I did try to refrain my life.

It seemingly looks like a bane

Like I have been cursed

I tried to take a cue

But yet never succeeded.

I had said no

I have always objected it

The talk about it always touch my raw nerve

But yet I fell flat  for it. 

When it comes

I feel like copulating with any opposite sex my eye catches.

After gaining satisfaction

I feel so ashamed.

 It started with a huge

Then to a kiss 😘

Then to romance

To sex.

 It started with five minutes stand

Then to ten minutes

To hours

To all day long.

 Does it means,am addicted?

Is it just youthful exuberant?

Or perhaps my hormones playing prank on me,

If not ,then what?

 I thought I could handle it

I thought after that five minutes,

It would never happen again.

I thought I could hold grip of my sexual desire.

 Friends call me MOG

Neighbors call me living saint

Coursemate  call me pastor

My younger ones see me as their mentor.

 Not knowing I'm a beast in human form

Without any knowledge of what I do secretly

Without any knowledge of what I do with my private time

Without a single knowledge of about my personality.

THINK:

 Hey!

Do you feel guilty? 

Don't give up trying to stop.

Whose perfect in his life?

Dearest!

No one is really perfect.

Don't feel bad if things do not happen your way.

You always  have another chance

Which is today

Don't give up now.

You just have to keep that positive spirit moving

If you think you can stop it,

Then you can.

It begins with you having a positive mindset.

If you keep the hope alive

You will surely get through it.

Brother!

Sister!

Don't take sniper

Because you feel vunerable.

But rather,

Go ye down on your knees

Ask for forgiveness and

Work towards stopping it.

Even if you fall again and again

Never give up the fight.

PRISONER OF LOVE

 

I stood alone in deep thought,

Hollering my lungs out in tears,

With my legs in my mouth ,

I was left alone in the whale of regret.

 

 

The promise was   forever,

You said it's was me or never,

 You made me crossed my eyes,

Believing it was life everlasting.

 

Then Suddenly,

You asked for a carte blanche,

You said it's was over

You said I should go get another.

 

 

 You said what we had was a falasy,

You said your heart is for another,

You said my sight get you irritated,

You said it was never real.

 

You made me believe in love,

You opened the key of love,

Locked up for years,

In my heart.

 

Does it means,

Love is a scam?

Does it means ,

Love is never existed?

Open mindedness disposition

 

One of the key to a successful life is having an open mindedness disposition.what often hinders most of us from getting to the top of our climax is lack of an open mindedness disposition. Most of us are afraid of relating our fears and worries to people so as to help us resolve our challenges.

 

To be open minded is to be free in heart i.e  a state at which we neither pretend nor shy away from relating our challenges to our truest friends. If we must be on top of the world we must learn to be open minded,we must learn to communicate with people,we must let our ego down and learn from people around or those that are better than us because at one point or another we need people around us.

 

Apart from being on top ,we needs to be open minded in our daily activities i.e me and you must strive to be honest and trustworthy.

 

I also observed that at times ,even when we are relating our worries to people we always allow our emotions to control us and we never listened to the person we have run to. More often than not we go back the same way we have come.

 

A child is a very good example in open mindedness disposition. A child never fails to relate his/her worries to their parents or guidance at that point in their they are their truest friends. Even if he/she have just been scolded,it still doesn't stop him/her to approaching the truest friend in time of distress.

 

Some of us are not just having problem relating our fears to our truest friends but also to  our creator.

 

Perhaps due to the gravity of our sins we are quick to condemning ourselves even when he(God)is always ready to hear us. Have we ever wondered why God said " asked and it shall be granted on you ,seek and you shall find"

 

Have we?

 

I don't think so, because with it we should know that it Paramount we relating our challenges.

 

Another beautiful reason why many of us will never relate our fears not until we are sixth feet below is our ego i.e pride .

 

Pride according to the concise English dictionary means " A feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from achievements, qualities or possessions that do one credit , consciousness of one's own dignity ,the quality of having an excessively high opinion of oneself".

 

Pride can be said to be of negative type and also of positive type. It becomes bad when we overestimate ourselves. Thinking our accomplishment is by our own power and merit there by despising others who  may not be successful as we are.

 It also makes us to over look our personal weakness and never interested in working towards them. We begin to feel we are to big to eer and also to be corrected,it is also at this point that we begin to feel  we are too perfect and big to share our worries and to seek for help.

 Let me quickly take us back to the memory lane about Naaman ( a high ranking figure in his time)who was cured of leprosy .

 We can see clearly that if not that he let his ego down he wouldn't have been saved .

 And also to stress further on his level of obedience and humidity,he kinly followed the Elisha's instructions and he was cured of the deadly disease.

 And wonderfully is the story of Gehazi his servant who was condemned eternally because he failed to be open minded.

Open mindedness disposition as simple as it is has taken many  to a height they never imagined and had also been the cause of many troubles in our homes, society, places of work and our at large.

 Knowing fully well of the level of evil in our world today, I know it never an easy task relating our fears to friends because nobody can be trusted, but we must also have it in mind that as God liveth whatever he does not permit can never happen except if we don't believe.
